Plant and Shrub Spotlight- Nate’s favorites

We’re excited to feature some of Nate Jensen’s favorite plants and shrubs—tried-and-true selections that can elevate any landscape design in the Omaha metro area.

Shrub spotlight: Viburnum 'blue muffin'

Viburnum 'blue muffin

A great shrub for border, privacy, wildlife, spring and fall color.  Blue muffin is a cultivar of native arrowwood viburnum.  One of our favorite shrubs!  Tough, drought tolerant, disease resistant, native, colorful, compact.  Come pick yours up today, or call us to design them into your new landscape

plant spotlight: Amsonia 'blue ice'

Amsonia 'blue ice'

One of our favorite blue flowers!  Low maintenance!  Compact blue flowers on a tough perennial.  Drought tolerant, long bloom season, will spread to fill an area if given room, but not overly aggressive.  plays nicely with other established perennials, while choking out new weeds.

Plant spotlight: Geranium 'max frei'

Geranium 'max frei' bright pink

One of my all time favorite perennials:  Geranium 'max frei' bright pink, long lasting blooms, on a compact tough perennial.  Not to be confused with annual geranium, this hardy perennial comes back year after year!  Stays small, great for borders.  Tough, low maintenance, water occasionally in summer dry spells, otherwise let the mother nature water them.  Get yours at our nursery, or have us design and install some in your new landscape!
